Schedule

Wed, 7. February - WS01: ARM BALANCES + CORE CONNECTION Part 1

Learn how to achieve Arm Balances with Wall Strength Techniques + Cross Core Body Power!

We will explore Bakasana (Crow Pose), Parsvabakasana (Side Crow Pose) and Hasta Baddha Pada Parsvakonasana (Bound Arm-To-Leg Side Angle Pose) as structural tools to access Koundinyasana (Arm Balance Split Pose) and Paravritta Kounsinyasana (Rotated Arm Balance Split Pose) with the support of the wall and easy partnered assists that we can practice together in a fun and safe environment. A Flow based on warm up and continual review throughout the workshop will be our vehicle to purify fire and fluid flow water elements with an earth base that will include a thorough approach to Wrist, Elbow and Shoulder Therapy. We will then experience a previewed Partner Thai massage workshop and savasana (relax pose) acupressure therapy to complete our adventurous day together!

Everyone with a desire to grow and deepen their practice is most welcome!

Thu, 8. February - WS02: ARM BALANCES + CORE CONNECTION Part 2

Learn how to achieve Arm Balances with Wall Strength Techniques + Cross Core Body Power!

Part one and two are generally designed to complement one another for greater muscle-mind memory, as their contents are detailed and abundant. Participants are encouraged to create individual video clips for continued self practice. Some variations or changes in postures and therapy techniques will be explored on each day, so please be aware that WS01 and WS02 will have something invaluable and unique about them. A special note for those of you interested in the joint therapy: In WS02 we will focus on ankle, knee and hip therapy to complement the therapy of WS01.

Everyone with a desire to grow and deepen their practice ist most welcome!

Fri, 9. February - WS03: WAVE FLOWS + BACK BENDS

Learn how to develop a Stronger Core and a Longer Spine and apply it to a Deeper Detoxing Back Bend!

Welcome to an amazing self discovery and exploration of our spine’s natural fluid design! Our spine is build not only to flex, extend, laterally flex and rotate, but also to undulate like a wave. Once we learn how to perform this spinal technique and experience its benefits, we will be riding on the energetic wave of life, as this is the source of our core strength and postural length connection. What you will learn from this workshop is that mastering the wave motion of our spine leads to a strength of core and length of spine, which are necessary for a stable and spacious back bend especially in a kneeling or standing position. This is due to the fact that a stable trunk grounded in the roots of the inner thighs and feet establishes a base that supports the natural grace of a heart opening back bend. In yoga we call this process STHIRAH SUKHAM ASANAM (Steady Comfortable Connection)

All with a desire to grow and deepen their practice are most welcome!

Sat, 10. February - WS05: THAI FLOW + PARTNER THERAPY Part 1

Learn how to release Core Tension and increase Joint Mobility and Alignment with Great Partner Thai Work!

Welcome to an unforgettably life-changing introduction to Thai Flow Therapy! Thai refers to the Thai massage element. Flow includes self massage with coordinated movement (vinyasa). Above all, therapy implements intelligent hand postures (mudras) that serve as therapeutic massage tools in order to create excellent acupressure points that are healing for both giver and receiver. A step-by-step guided approach to learn a simple but yet effective full body massage will be presented and repeated to retain the sequence and techniques. Please feel free to bring a friend or find a like-minded practice partner in the class. This workshop will focus on the spine, lower back, legs and feet.

All with a desire to grow and deepen their practice are most welcome!

Sun, 11. February - WS05: THAI FLOW + PARTNER THERAPY Part 2

Continued Study of Self Applied Thai Flow Therapy and Review and Ongoing Partner Thai Assist Work!

WS 04 + 05 are also designed to complement one another for greater muscle-mind memory, as the contents are detailed and abundant. Participants are encouraged to create individual video clips for continued self practice. Some variations or changes in postures and therapy techniques will be explored on each day, so please be aware that WS04 and WS05 will have something invaluable and unique about them. This workshop will review WS04 content and continue to focus on neck, chest and shoulders, arms and hands.

All with a desire to grow and deepen their practice are most welcome!

About YOGIC ARTS™

The very heart of his practice is the warrior awareness: the strength to live and protect peace and love. Yogic Arts™ is a practice that appeals to the whole human being, since the movements are logical as well as inspiring and nourish the „Love Warrior“ in all of us.

Duncan’s refined and exact way of teaching is second to no other and his popular hands-on assists are based on his unique and deep understanding of the human beings, their bodies and their boundaries. In his classes, Duncan teaches you to „unlearn“ bad habits and rediscover your body’s natural design and power through specific techniques that are based in mudra (hand and feet poses), which will awaken your aligned body structure as it was meant to perform. In Duncan’s class you will learn how to work the wall and other props like rolled-up mats and blocks thus discovering easy step-by-step ways to develop balance and strength as well optimal length. Also meditation and old ’skool‘ yogic breathing techniques and mantra will be explored.

Be inspired by his pure love for human beings, his deep respect of old wisdom and most of all his enthusiasm for yoga!
